A new province-wide recycling program began in May 19, 2014. This Stewardship Program is managed by Multi-Material BC (MMBC), a not-for-profit organization run by a private sector board of directors.
As a result of this province-wide change, options are being considered for the future of residential recycling services on the North Shore. To inform future decisions, we wanted to hear from North Shore residents about their expectations for recycling service.
We conducted a public consultation and survey of North Shore residents to find out what is important to them when it comes to who makes local recycling service decisions, the type of service they receive, and their openness to pay for various levels of service.
The survey results are intended to help inform future decision-making regarding the provision of recycling service to residents in the City of North Vancouver, District of North Vancouver and District of West Vancouver.
