Plastic #1 - rigid container

*Recycling Changes Coming May 19, 2014 - click here for details*

#1 rigid plastic containers are accepted within the curbside recycling program.  Simply ensure the container is clean, and has not contained any hazardous materials - skull and crossbone - and is under 4 litres (1 gallon) in size, and you can place it out for collection in your blue box (single-family) or glass, metal, plastic cart (multi-family). See the curbside collection page for details on plastic containers that have held hazardous chemicals or products.

For large volumes, or if your container is larger than 4 litres (1 gallon), and smaller than 25 litres (6 gallons), you can bring them to the Recycling Drop-off Depot. Visit the depot website page for details.

For plastic containers larger than 25 litres (6 gallons), you may be able to recycle them with a private company for a fee. Contact these companies for details on location, materials accepted and applicable fees:

For any plastics that cannot be recycled, you can bring them to the North Shore Transfer Station located at 30 Riverside Drive, North Vancouver, for disposal as regular garbage. Visit their website for hours and applicable fees.
