Beverage containers

All ready-to-drink beverage containers (*except milk and milk substitutes) carry a deposit fee on them. They are also banned from disposal (as garbage) in the Metro Vancouver area and must be recycled. These include water and pop bottles/cans, juice boxes, wine bottle/boxes, beer cans, etc. You can try returning them to your point-of-purchase, or you can bring them to any Encorp bottle depot for a refund.

Click here for more information on the Encorp beverage container recycling program in BC, or call 604.473.2400.

If you are looking for a North Shore bottle depot, these are the locations:

  • Lonsdale Bottle & Return-It Depot (142A West 3rd Street, North Vancouver, 604.980.2111)
  • North Vancouver Bottle & Return-it-Depot (310 Brooksbank Avenue, North Vancouver, 604.924.3889)
  • North Shore Bottle Depot (235 Donaghy Avenue, North Vancouver, 604.985.9348)

Alternately, consider donating them to schools or sports clubs for fundraising.

*The depots listed above will also accept any milk and milk substitute containers for recycling. No refund is given, as no deposit is paid at the time of purchase.
